Responsible Gambling
Gambling should be entertainment you can afford, not a way to make money. Every bet can lose, and the house always has an edge over time.

Keep it fun
- Set a budget before you play and stop when it's gone. Only use money you can afford to lose — never money for rent, bills, food or school.
- Set a time limit and take regular breaks.
- Never chase losses. Trying to win back what you lost usually makes it worse.
- Never borrow money or sell things to gamble.
- Don't gamble when you're stressed, upset, or drinking.
- Don't bet extra just to climb the leaderboard. A race prize is never worth more than your budget.
Warning signs
It may be time to stop or get help if you:
- spend more money or time gambling than you planned;
- keep raising your bets to feel the same excitement;
- hide your gambling from family or friends, or lie about it;
- borrow money, miss bills, or fall behind on work or school because of gambling;
- feel restless, anxious or irritable when you try to cut down;
- think of gambling as a way to solve money problems.
Tools on your Stake account
Stake lets you limit or pause your own play. In your Stake account settings, look for the Responsible Gambling section to set limits on how much you can deposit or spend, or to take a break or self-exclude. If you can't find an option, contact Stake's support team and ask them to apply it for you.
